Changes to Enrollment Fee Amounts and Pharmacy Copayments for Fiscal Year 2012

TRICARE recently announced changes to some of the beneficiary costs for the TRICARE benefit, including US Family Health Plan, effective October 1, 2011.

Enrollment Fee Increase for New Enrollees:
For beneficiaries enrolling in either TRICARE Prime or US Family Health Plan on or after October 1, 2011, the enrollment fees are being increased to $260 for an individual and $520 for a family.

Beneficiaries already enrolled prior to October 1 are not subject to the increased enrollment fee for Fiscal Year 2012: their enrollment fee will still be $230 for an individual and $460 for a family for Fiscal Year 2012. For more information, click here.

Changes to Pharmacy Copayments:
TRICARE is changing pharmacy copayments for all TRICARE plans, including US Family Health Plan, effective October 1, 2011.

If you use Mail Order Service:
• Copayments for generic drugs will go down from $3 to $0.
• Copayments for brand name drugs will remain at $9.
• Copayments for non-formulary drugs will go up from $22 to $25.

If you use a retail pharmacy:
• Copayments for generic drugs will go up from $3 to $5.
• Copayments for brand name drugs will go up from $9 to $12.
• Copayments for non-formulary drugs will go up from $22 to $25.
