Two USFHP members to run Boston Marathon

Updated March 23rd, 2012

Two valued US Family Health Plan members, U.S. Navy Cdr. Andy Gish, and Leah Beckett, wife of a U.S. Army soldier, will run the Boston Marathon April 16 to raise money for very worthy causes.

Beckett will run with the team Run for Research, raising money for the American Liver Foundation in honor of a friend’s daughter, who’s been battling Primary Schlerosing Cholangitis, the disease which NFL Hall-of-Famer Walter Payton suffered from, for six years.

Gish is running to honor his mother, who is battling Alzheimer’s Disease. He is a member of Run for Team Memory, raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association, which funds research for the disease, and support services for families of people suffering from the disease.

If you would like to donate to either cause, contact Beckett at leah.beckett@gmail.com, or Gish at lagish@1993.usna.com.
